Any one here remember that scumbag operation? After it was shilled for on a sportsbook review forum (NOT RX) for months with gushing reviews I opened an account with them. Not long after accumulating thousands of new accounts they absconded with everyone's funds. Just curious if any one else was victimized by what was clearly a well orchestrated con job. Interesting thing is the sportsbook review forum that was instrumental in the fleece is still in business. Strange how that works.

Did you ever find out who was the owner of Bet Islands and shilling for the scam? Lucky to not have played there.

I didn't play there, but the name is familiar. Were they in Costa Rica?

I bet there after seeing good reviews on SBR.

They had very lucrative +EV promos and didn't back me off when I made a pretty big profit off them. I made a check withdrawal and they mailed me an envelope full of $100 bills. I was sketched out enough that I withdrew the rest of my balance. They called me a bunch of times with 100% cash bonus offers, including several times in the two days before they ran off with everyone's money, but fortunately I never took the bait.

From what I remember their collapse was tied to a bust of the Bonnano crime family. The Bonnano's assets were seized by the feds, and without the mafia's money backing them up, betislands made one final push for deposits before stealing everyone's balances.

Thanks for posting a link to the story, please everyone read the article. It provides excellent insight into what to watch out for when choosing a book. Learn from other people's mistakes. Still astonished that SBR forum has any credibility after the role they played in the hustle. After the collapse someone posted a picture of the piece of shit that was running the operation - neck tattoos etc. Wish I'd seen his picture before because I wouldn't have given the guy the time of day much less my cash. Hard lesson learned, hoping this thread will save others from falling for similar scams. Incidentally, shortly thereafter SBR banned me for life from posting.

I was very lucky to get my 4k out as they went stiff within days of paying me. Can't remember how they paid me though.

Pay off for sure. And they still shill along with the Rx HERITAGE who's declined massively since last summer. But they still get an A in the reviews and top notched offshore book.
